We oftentimes get two questions in regards to this efficient bird feeding solution:

1) How long will a cylinder hold up in my yard? 

This question is hard to answer because it depends on how many birds are in your backyard. Cylinders are 100% meaning there is nothing but seed held together by a vegan gelatin which is harmless to the birds. A smaller cylinder is equivalent to 2lbs of bird seed and a large cylinder is equivalent to 4.5 lbs of bird seed. 

2) Will the rain make this cylinder fall apart?

These cylinders hold up really well in the elements- however certain birds do like certain seeds. Therefore if you are worried about seeds being tossed onto the ground a tray is recommended to catch the discarded seeds. Most of our cylinder feeders do come with a tray. During winter these cylinders do freeze however the birds beaks are more than capable to dislodge the frozen seeds.
