Take Advantage of our very own City of Parks

MONDAY- Challenge- go to a park you haven't been to yet.

What better way to celebrate this Sunday than outside discovering a new place of nature in our own city of parks.

When was the last time you walked along the Ice Age trail? Or grabbed a coffee and watched the Eagles feeding between 8-11:30 am on the Rock River? Our personal favorite? Or one of our personal favorites: The dog-friendly Robert O Cook Memorial Arboretum- awesome for birding and hiking of all levels.

Wherever you go- take time today and embrace the famous words of naturalist John Muir- "In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks."

**John Muir, also known as "John of the Mountains" and "Father of the National Parks", was a Scottish-born American naturalist, author, environmental philosopher, botanist, zoologist, glaciologist, and early advocate for the preservation of wilderness in the United States.

For more local nature places in the surrounding area visit our website:

Another great resource is our very own Park Division website for Janesville WI- if you haven't checked out their website take some time exploring it. https://www.janesvillewi.gov/departments-services/public-works/parks-division

This snapshot shows some of the topics they cover such as the Janesville Greenbelt- what it does, why we have it, and how we can help maintain it. Or if you have questions park locations and amenities, dog friendly areas, etc. Take some time and learn about the spaces available to you as resident.
