Sometimes Rare and Endangered animals are closer to home than we suspect.

Whether you’re interested in learning about the most trafficked mammal in the world or are curious about which birds & animals are endangered or threatened in our own state, more than 157,100 species are listed on the IUCN Red List and need your help.

Knowledge is power, and learning about these important animals and sharing your education with others can make an impact before it’s too late.

Curious about which birds & animals are endangered or threatened in our own state? Check out the following websites from the WI DNR  Protecting WI Biodiversity and U.S. Environmental Conservation Online System U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service ECOS .
These two resources list lets us know where we are at with bringing back species numbers back in our own state. These species include animals (both vertebrates and invertebrates), plants, fish, clams, birds, insects, etc. Invasive species & climate change impacts a species and these factors are expected to become even more significant in the future.

You might be able to make a big difference by just planting a native plant you didn't know was endangered or maybe providing shelter & food for your songbirds whose numbers are on the decline.

It's never too late to learn and no matter how small the step- it's a step in the right direction.

So start stepping today- we'll join you!
